Back to School Books

It is back to school time for many families and with that comes a busier schedule. The following books will help keep the home organized and on track.

Finding time to fit in cleaning can be difficult while monitoring varied activities of the children in a household. This book gives busy moms over 500 tips on how to save time and create a safe, healthy atmosphere for their families.

All of the advice is organized in an easy-to-read format that is divided into sections on different rooms in the house, how to clean "green", and how to deal with laundry.

After a long day, the thought of cooking dinner probably exhausts most parents. This cookbook shows how this process can be rejuvenated by combining family time and cooking healthy meals. Advice is given on the best recipes to use and which cooking techniques are safe for different ages. The directions are easy to follow and many of the recipes have black and white photographs depicting the needed steps.

Mornings before school can be a little smoother with organization and one way to accomplish that is by making sure rooms, drawers, and other storage areas are arranged to make things easier. This handy volume from Home Depot gives great ideas on how to organize every area of the house. Every page is filled with color photographs of the different storage options available. Also included is a section on how to install shelves and other storage systems.

One way to make meal-making during the week go faster is to plan ahead and use the weekend to get ready. The authors of this cookbook have provided a guess proof weekly schedule that can be used to create a variety of dishes that the whole family will enjoy. Each of the thirteen weeks listed feature a different main dish ingredient such as chicken, pork, chili, salmon, ham, and turkey. The leftovers are used in a variety of easy to follow recipes. Also included is an assortment of desserts that can accompany the meals.
