New Reference Books

The Library’s Information and Reference Center has chosen to highlight the following new books to help patrons find answers to a variety of questions.

Facts On File Library of Health and Living presents this 300+ page third edition book. As in any encyclopedia, the entries are in alphabetical order with issues such as abandonment, biological parents, placement outcome and wrongful adoption being defined and explained. With charts and graphs throughout, this book is a must have for anyone considering adoption, those who were adopted, or anyone interested in learning more about this life-changing topic.

Another of the Facts on File Library of Health and Living encyclopedias, this book begins with a brief history of madness, psychosis and schizophrenia. Entries are listed alphabetically including terms like acromania, anxiety, etiology and verbigeration. Anyone interested in learning more about psychotic disorders should will find this to be an informative source.

Another Facts on File Library of Health and Living encyclopedia is this specialized book which looks at the types of and issues surrounding autism spectrum disorders. Arranged in alphabetical order, terms surrounding these types of disorders are defined and explained in detail. As in the previous two volumes, this book also has a resource section, listing available resources related to autism by state. Tables of contents and indexes are included in all three volumes.
