This last month of classes offers many exciting opportunities. Security Basics takes place on Monday, April 5. This class will show students how to be proactive with Windows and Microsoft updates, antivirus and antispyware software, and good password practices. On Tuesday, April 6, Digital Photo Editing will be held. Learn how to crop, rotate, and enhance digital photos using basic techniques in Photoshop Elements. Students must be able to use a mouse and windows. Free Alternatives to Expensive Software will take place on Monday, April 12. Learn about Open Office, GIMP, and more as free alternatives to Microsoft and Adobe products. Bring a CD or flash drive and take a copy home with you. On Tuesday, April 13, Advanced Photo Editing with Dick Elliott will be held. Learn some advanced techniques from an experienced user. Attendance at Digital Photo Editing or equivalent knowledge of a photo editing program is required. PLEASE NOTE: This class will begin at 10:05 a.m. Word Basics and Editing will be held on Wednesday, April 14. Learn the basics of Microsoft Word 2007, including how to type, edit, copy/cut/paste/save, format fonts and paragraphs, print and create templates. Attendance at computer basics and some knowledge of Word is preferred. Learn how to search Google on Monday, April 19. This class will teach users how to find things on the Internet with Google, get driving directions, translate web sites, and more. Search tips for narrowing your results will be included. Students should be familiar with using the Internet before attending. On Wednesday, April 21, a Word Formatting and Layouts class will take place. In this class, students will learn how to work with tables, bulleted lists, headers/footers, shading and graphics. Each of these classes begin at 10:30 a.m. in the computer lab at the Main Library.
