BROWN BAG LUNCHES FOR AGES 5 AND UP

Mondays-June 21, 28, July 5, 12, 19, 26-12:00-1:00 PM Join us for lunch as we share stories based on the theme "Make a Splash - Read!" Free hot lunches for those 18 years and under provided by Summer Food Service Program, or bring your own brown bag lunch and beverage. After lunch and stories, children will make a craft item in the Children's Program Room. Be prepared to be outside for lunch. No registration required.

Wednesdays-June 16, 30, July 14, 28, August 18-1:00-2:00 PM Stop in and make some splashy creations to take home. Ages 5-10.

MAKE A SPLASH WITH THE AKRON ZOO

Wednesday, June 30-2:00-2:45 PM. Visit with the Akron Zoo education staff and some of their animals as they provide an up-close opportunity to see and learn about these amazing creatures. Sponsored by the Alliance Quota Club. No registration required. For the entire family.

WATER, WATER! WITH THE WILDERNESS CENTER

Tuesday, July 20 - 3-3:45 PM. A TWC Naturalist will discuss the "water planet," Earth and conduct hands-on activities, play a water cycles game and investigate with water. Recommended for ages 7-12. Registration required-limit of 50.

SPLASH INTO READING! WITH MAGICAL STORYTELLER "LIFEGUARD TESS"

Friday, July 30-3-3:45 PM. "Lifeguard Tess" will entertain the entire family with her program based on children's books. She rescued Splish, a Splash with amnesia. See if she can help him remember just who he is! For the entire family. No registration required.

SPLASH IN THE POOL AT THE YMCA

Friday, August 6-1:00-3:00 PM at the Alliance Family YMCA. For Rodman Summer Reading Program children ages 6-12 and 48" tall. Sign up and get your ticket for an afternoon of swimming. No charge. Registration required-limit of 50.

LEGO SPLASH!

Saturday, August 7-2:00-3:00 PM. Join us as we create with LEGOS based on a theme highlighted through books and stories. We provide the LEGOS, you provide the creations. Ages 4 and up. Parents welcome, too. Registration encouraged.

LAPSIT PROGRAM FOR AGES 2 AND 3

Designed for child and an accompanying adult. Every Monday evening from 6:30-7:00 PM or Wednesday morning from 10:30-11:00 AM at the Main Library on Broadway Street. Experience age-appropriate books, music, and fingerplays. No registration required. (Children's Program Room)

Ages 4-8

STORYTIME FOR AGES 4, 5, AND 6

A forty-five minute storytime is offered on Tuesday evenings (6:30-7:15 P.M.) and Wednesday mornings (10:15-11:00 A.M.) During June, Storytime is at the Carnation Mall Branch Library. In July and August it is at the Main Library. Enjoy storybooks, songs, fingerplays, and occasional crafts and games. No registration required.

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID PROGRAM

Wednesday, June 16- 3:00-4:00 PM. Think you know a lot about Greg, Rowley and friends? Join us for prizes, games, and trivia based on Jeff Kinney's books. A repeat of the Spring 2010 program. For ages 8-12. Registration required-limit of 30.

SPLASH SOME POETRY ON A PAGE

Wednesday, July 21-2:00-2:45 PM. Join poet and guitarist Carolyn Middleton as she helps unlock your creativity while writing poetry using words and music. For ages 8-10. Registration required. Limit of 10 in the class.
